Teatro Bulabanda huntu ku Volksoperahuis di Amsterdam ta presentá: Bibi Snèk, komedia musikal tokante e último snèk krioyo den Otrobanda. E hobén rapper Aldaïr Pieters a bini ku e idea di un obra teatral den su bario Otrobanda.

Famia, amigu i bisiñanan a bini huntu e anochi promé ku entiero di e gran Bibi, baluarte di Otrobanda, pa un konmemorashon den e famoso Bibi Snèk.
E ora ei Filomena, kompañera di bida di Bibi, ta shòk tur hende presente ku e notisia ku a bende Bibi Snèk, ku e lo será i disparsé fo’i Otrobanda pa semper!
E mesun anochi ei, Bibitu, un yu di afó di Bibi ta presentá diripiente i konfrontá Filomena ku e snèk ta di dje!

Awor ku turismo ta kresiendo, henter suidat mester bira un lugá pa dibertí pa turista? Of mester purba mantené nos ‘herensia’nan krioyo? Bibi Snèk, a musical comedy about the last local snack bar in Otrobanda, premieres on March 8th.

Bulabanda Theater, in collaboration with the Volksoperahuis of Amsterdam, presents: Bibi Snèk, a musical comedy about the last local snack bar in Otrobanda. The young rapper Aldaïr Pieters came up with the idea for a theatrical piece in his neighborhood of Otrobanda.

The Story
Family, friends, and neighbors gather on the night before the funeral of the great Bibi, a cornerstone of Otrobanda, for a commemoration at the famous Bibi Snèk. That same night, Filomena, Bibi’s life partner, shocks everyone present with the news that Bibi Snèk has been sold and will be closed, removing it from Otrobanda forever! That same night, Bibitu, one of Bibi’s sons, confronts Filomena with the idea that the snack bar belongs to him!

Now with tourism booming, does the entire city need to become an entertainment hub for tourists? Or should we try to maintain our local heritage? When a cornerstone like Bibi faces demolition, should we do whatever it takes to preserve it as it was, or do young people have the right to innovate? Come enjoy a comedy full of laughter, a bit of drama, and live music!
