After attending the Art Quilt Workshops under Maria Cijntje’s expert guidance at The Curaçao Museum every Saturday in July and in August these following ladies are ready to share their ART QUILTS with you and shine their creative light at The Curaçao Museum!

Join these strong creative women and let them tell you all about the story behind their HERO:

Nelly Rosa
Alejandra Cijntje
Josée Thissen
Arindah Thissen
Vesuhely Americaan
Yvorona Lane

The exhibition MY HERO is spin-off of the ART QUILT Exhibition QRUITICAL by Maria Cijntje in commemoration of 161 years of the abolition of slavery, an exhibition where the participants tell the stories of several other HERO’s in a different form than we are used to.

MY HERO tells the story of resilience, creativity, and endurance and opens our eyes to the importance of looking closer to home for the HERO in you!
