Landhuis Bloemhof is delighted to announce the upcoming solo exhibition Color Me Nature, featuring vibrant and textured work by self-taught abstract artist Alexine Tjon. The exhibition opens on September 19, 2024, starting at 7:00 pm till 9:00 pm.
The opening will be marked by special words from Caitlin Heide, Alexine’s daughter, followed by Eva Breukink who will recite a poem. This evening promises to be a memorable celebration of art, family, and the serene beauty of nature, captured in Alexine’s unique style. Guests are invited to experience the powerful connection between art and nature through Alexine’s mixed media creations.

The Artist
Alexine Tjon’s work is distinguished by her innovative use of nature’s color palette, which she combines with a variety of textures and mediums. Each piece is an exploration of layered textures and acrylic paints, meticulously composed to create a three-dimensional effect that immerses viewers in a dynamic nature scenery. Her creative process is deeply intuitive, guided by the subconscious, allowing her art to unfold organically as she manipulates non-traditional materials to evoke deep emotions and diverse perspectives.
The Journey
Alexine’s artistic journey began with a private commission in 2011, and she has since showcased her work in multiple group exhibitions, including group and themed exhibitions at Landhuis Bloemhof. Her pop-up solo exhibition at Hotel Botanica in Kura Hulanda in 2023 garnered significant acclaim, setting the stage for her upcoming solo show at Landhuis Bloemhof.

Workshop
There will be an opportunity to learn directly from Alexine Tjon by joining her workshop classes, held on Saturday mornings from 9 to 11 AM. In these workshops, participants will explore how to use the different materials and techniques Alexine employs to create her paintings.
