Landhuis Bloemhof presents, especially for the summer break, a community art project starting on Saturday, June 29, 2024. This art project, ‘What the Quack is Going On’, kicks off with the opening of an art exhibition at 10:30 AM. Hundreds of rubber ducks are participating. The rubber ducks used for this project are the Duck Race ducks from the Rotary Club Willemstad, being recycled in this way.

Duck Invasion
The exhibition is just the beginning of this ‘ducksperience’. Partners of Landhuis Bloemhof, the Cathedral of Thorns and restaurant Number Ten, are also participating.
From July 1, every table at Number Ten will have a duck inviting you to a good conversation. ‘Let’s quack’ shall we? At the Cathedral of Thorns, visitors can join in and contribute to the creation of a community artwork by painting a duck to be part of it. Participation is free.

And anyone who thinks they know how many ducks have been used in this project can take a guess. The winner will have the honor of officially inaugurating the community artwork, which will be displayed in the garden of Landhuis Bloemhof.

Free Admission
From June 29 to August 4, admission is free for children up to 12 years old. Summer activity programs for kids are excluded. Every Wednesday, all CuraƧao residents can also enter for free by showing a valid sedula.

Join and Register
From June 29 to August 4, you can work on the community artwork every day. Participation is free.

If you want to take the painted duck home, there is an adoption fee of Nafl 5.00. You can register for this project by emailing info@bloemhof.cw or sending a message to +5999 737-5775.

Please provide the desired day, time, and number of participants to be scheduled.

Landhuis Bloemhof is a cultural center dedicated to the memory of May Henriquez.
Contemporary visual artists are welcomed to exhibit their work in this historical mansion dating back to 1735.
And there is much more to explore on the seventeen acres of the estate, like the frozen in time sculpture studio of May Henriquez, the Ex Libris May-Max Library and our gift shop with colorful souvenirs, handcrafted jewelry and art books to mention just a few .

On the premises, in the gardens, you can also visit the bath house nestled between shady trees, the Labyrinth/Cathedral of Thorns, created by Herman van Bergen and the open air sculpture studio of Hortence Brouwn.
Stroll through the park and indulge in a cultural experience surrounded by history, contemporary art and nature.
